Shipping policy
Delivery of orders placed with Safegear GmbH
We use: 1) parcel carriers for parcels up to 20 kg; 2) freight carriers for pallets; and 3) specialist companies for the installation of safes.
We deliver to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Prices include Swiss VAT, and deliveries are delivered duty paid: no customs duties, import VAT or clearance fees are charged on delivery.
There is no extra charge if your order is delivered in several shipments. This can happen when items have different lead times or ship directly from the manufacturer.
Delivery within the first stated lead time is not guaranteed. We are not liable for discontinued or back-ordered items, for delays caused by the carrier, or for costs arising from such delays.
Parcels
Parcels under 20 kg ship from our own warehouse or directly from the manufacturer. If no one is home, the carrier leaves a notice, and the parcel can be collected from the nearest post office or pick-up point. You normally receive an email with a tracking number. This isn't always possible when a parcel ships directly from the manufacturer.
Freight carrier
Freight is used mainly for businesses and the public sector, but also to deliver items such as safes to private customers. Goods usually arrive on a pallet, which the carrier delivers to the kerbside or door. The carrier does not carry safes up stairs or similar.
Someone at the address normally has to sign for freight. If the carrier has to leave the pallet in a driveway or similar, this is at your own risk. For private customers, we give the carrier your phone number and ask them to call before arrival. If you are not there, the carrier leaves a notice. You then collect the goods from a nearby depot or arrange a new delivery, which may be charged.
Safes: delivery, installation and anchoring
We can arrange installation and anchoring of safes for an extra charge. The standard price covers delivery to the kerbside only.
Installation and anchoring by specialists starts from CHF 500 incl. VAT. The price depends on: 1) the weight and size of the safe; 2) access (floor, lift or stairs); 3) location; and 4) whether the safe is bolted to the floor or wall.
We cannot arrange a specific delivery time or guarantee discretion when shipping parcels. Most burglary- or fire-tested safes are too heavy to ship as parcels.
For more discretion at delivery, you can: 1) let us handle delivery and installation; 2) collect from our warehouse by prior arrangement; or 3) have the goods delivered to your work address, so the carrier doesn't see the final location (check with your employer first).
Collection of orders
You can collect some items held at our own warehouse. A handling fee equal to the delivery cost may still apply, because collection takes more work than shipping the day's orders together. Some items are held at a remote warehouse and must first be moved to ours. Collection must be arranged in advance.
Receiving goods and transport damage
If the packaging is damaged, open it straight away, with the carrier present if possible. If the carrier can't wait, note on the delivery receipt that you accept the parcel with reservation. If the item is damaged when you open it with the carrier present, refuse it and contact us at once.
Report transport damage to us immediately. If you find damage later, contact us straight away. Take photos as you unpack and keep the packaging, since the carrier often needs it for the claim.
